Welcome to the Frequently Asked Questions section of the Animation Library. In this section you will find answers to the questions that we receive most often, listed in order of their popularity. If your question is not answered here, please feel free to contact us. Enjoy your visit.
Q: How do I save the animations to my computer? A: If you are using a PC, position your mouse over the image, click your right mouse button, then select "Save Image as ..." or "Save Picture as ..." from the pulldown menu.
If you are using a MAC, position your mouse over the image, hold your mouse button down for second, then select "Save Image as ..." or "Save Picture as ..." from the menu that will pop up.
Q: I saved an animation, but when I open it, it is not animated? A: Your computer might be try to open the animation in a wrong program.Try openning it in your web browser (the program you use to surf the internet), by dragging and dropping the animation onto your browser's window.
Another solution would be to download a separate image viewing program which supports animation. You will find some of these
programs in our reviews section.
Q: Do you have an animation of ...? A: Please do not email us asking for specific animation. All animations that we have are posted on Animation Library and organized in many different categories. You are, however, more then welcome to email us and suggest what category you would like to see on our site.
Q: Can I use the animations on my personal homepage or on a non-profit site? A: Of course yes! That's why they are here.
Q: Can I use the animations on a website for a small business? A: In most cases, yes. Some animators do not allow their animations to be used on any kind of business website, but 99% of them do.
Q: Can I use the animations on a website created for or owned by a large company? A: Probably, yes. While most animators allow their animations to appear on large business website, many of them do not. You should contact the person who created the animation and ask his or her permission.
Q: Can I link directly to animations on Animation Library? A: No, because if you will load animations directly from our server, it will cost us money and make our site slower. If you want to use an animation on your website, you have to download the animation and then upload it to your site.
Q: Can you make me a custom animation? A: We can't, but our friends at Sky High Studios can make you some great custom animations very inexpensivelly.
Q: I am tired of saving the animations one-by-one. Why don't you offer "zip" files of entire sections of your site? A: We do not offer zip files of entire categories of our site, because it took us a lot of hard work to find and organize all of these animations and if we will make it easy to download all of them at one time, then people would simply copy our site and attempt to present it as their own work. Even now, somebody is copying our site at least once a month and we are really tired of calling their webhosting companies and getting their accounts canceled.
Q: What HTML code should I use to insert an animation into my page? A: The same as you would use for any other image, <img src="imagename.gif">, assuming that the animation is in the same folder as your page and that it is named imagename.gif .
Q: I am making my webpage using Microsoft Publisher 97 and it doesn't show the animation? A: Some webdesign programs, such as older versions of MS Publisher, will not allow you to insert an animation into your page.
This problem usually only occurs with older programs.
Q: Can I use the animations as icons on my computer? As screensavers? A: We heard that it is possible, but we honestly don't know how.
Q: I made a great animation! How can I submit it to Animation Library? A: We are always looking to increase our collection,
so all submissions are more then welcome. To submit an animation, just
go to this page
Q: Can I use these animations in Power Point presentations? A: It isn't possible to import animations to Power Point 97 or earlier. However, this feature is support in Office 2000 and XP and you can find out more about it by going to Microsoft's website .
